How to Differentiate Hemoglobinuria with Hematuria and Myoglobinuria???
Hemoglobinuria - *Presence of Hemoglobin in the urine
*It is due to the lysis of RBC ( Intravascular Hemolysis)
* RBC are destroyed and released hemoglobin in the plasma which in time filtered by kidney as dark brown in color or coffee colored urine
Hematuria - Presence of Blood in Urine
Myoglobinuria _ presence of Myoglobin in urine
To differentiate Hemoglobinura and Hematuria
Centrifuge the urine sample
If Hemoglobinuria there wont be any colur changes after centrifuge
If hematuria RBC will settle down and clear urine will be separated
To Differentiate hemoglobinuria and Myoglobinuria
Evaluate the Plasma color
Hemoglobinuria will have pink to red plasma colur
Myoglobinuria will not have pink to red colur plasma
But in Urine dip stick analysis all the above three will show positive for blood .
